Early 2000, US-based private equity fund Safeguard International has acquired all the shares of Sudamin Investment through a newly-established company, Sudamin Holding.
Safeguard International has made a number of investments in metallurgical and chemical industries in Europe and North Americain the past couple of years, including ALD vacuum Technologies of Hanau, Germany, Metallurg Inc in New York and Becancour Silicon in Canada.

End of June 2000, Sudamin has acquired all shares of Metal Chimie Environnement (MCE) based in Paris (France) and renamed Sudamin France.

Sudamin became a subsidiary of Metallurg Inc. on June 30th, 2006.
Metallurg Inc. is part of the group AMG NV since late 2006.
AMG NV has been listed on the Euronext stock excange on July 11th, 2007.
Safeguard fund remains the main shareholder of AMG NV.
